K League 1 Daejeon signs midfielder Kim Minwoo with European experience

Daejeon Hana Citizens, a professional soccer K League 1 team led by head coach Hwang Sun-hong, announced on Feb. 2 that it has signed midfielder Kim Min-woo, a 2002-born midfielder with European experience.

A promising young player who won the Cha Beom-geun Football Award in elementary school, Kim began his European career in 2021 when he joined the second team of Werder Bremen in Germany through a tryout, and most recently played for the second team of Düsseldorf.

The left-footed Kim is a versatile player who can play as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder, and left back.

He has played with Hwang at the U-23 national team.

He had never been called up to the senior national team before, but earned his first cap when the U-23s competed in the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) U-23 Championship in March, which led to him being named in the final roster for the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Asian Cup.

As the only European player at the U-23 Asian Cup, Kim scored the winning goal in the third group game against Japan.

“I joined the team late, so I’m working hard in all areas, including training and life, to integrate into the team quickly,” said Kim. “The current ranking doesn’t suit Daejeon. I will do my best to fulfill my role to help Daejeon get to where they want to be.”

Daejeon, which was coached by Hwang during the season after he led the U-23 national team, has dropped to 11th place with just four wins, six draws and 10 losses. 카지노사이트
