‘August vibes’ from 3 straight wins to seventh place…LOTTE manager Kim Tae-hyung

“I want to praise captain Jeon Jun-woo for his performance with four hits and five RBIs.”

Lotte is on a roll in August.

Lotte pounded out 19 hits in a 12-2 victory over Doosan on Thursday at Jamsil Stadium.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak at Jamsil Stadium dating back to June 16 against LG Electronics, and it also closed the gap to 3.5 games over SSG, whose game was canceled due to rain on the same day, to move into seventh place, ahead of NC. They kept their hopes alive for fall baseball.

Starting pitcher Kim Jin-wook did his job. He pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits with five walks and three strikeouts.

After failing to make it through the fifth inning in his last two games, Kim finally fulfilled the basic requirements of a starting pitcher and earned his fourth win of the season. Individually, he has won four straight games since May 31 against Sasik NC.

In the first inning, the batting lineup scored two runs. After back-to-back singles by Go Seung-min and Son Ho-young, Na Seung-yeop drew a walk to load the bases with one out, and Jeon Jun-woo followed with an RBI single.

With a 2-0 lead, Kim Jin-wook took the mound in the top of the first inning and walked Jung Soo-bin and Kang Seung-ho before giving up back-to-back singles to Doosan’s Jared Young and Yang Ji to put runners on first and second. Fortunately, he got Yang Seok-hwan to fly out to shortstop to end the inning.

In the second inning, Kim Jin-wook, who doubled off Heo Kyung-min one out later, got Jeon Min-jae to fly out to shortstop and then walked Lee Yoo-chan in an eight-pitch battle. He then gave up a single to right to Jung Soo-bin. Kim Jin-wook got Kang Seung-ho to fly out to shortstop to end the threat.

In the third inning, after getting Jared to ground out to second, Kim gave up a single to Yang Ji, but struck out Yang Seok-hwan and Kim Jae-hwan in succession.

In the fourth inning, the batting order of Heo Kyung-min, Jeon Min-jae, and Yoo Yoo-chan was retired in order. In the fifth inning, Kim Jin-wook walked leadoff hitter Jung Soo-bin but got Kang Seung-ho to pop up to third, second, and first for the second out of the inning. He looked shaky again when he walked Jared, but he got Yang Ji-Won to fly 카지노사이트 out to right field on one pitch to end the inning.

In the sixth inning, he turned the mound over to the bullpen. He threw a total of 102 pitches, topping out at 147 mph, with a mix of fastballs (56), sliders (38), and curveballs (8).

The offense backed up Jin-Wook Kim on the mound, scoring runs in nearly every inning.

In the second inning, Son Sung-bin led off with a single and scored on an RBI triple by Hwang Sung-bin.

In the third, leadoff hitter Reyes doubled, advanced to third on an error in left field, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jeon Jun-woo.

In the fifth, Na Seung-yeop doubled against reliever Jung Chul-won, Jeon Joon-woo singled to right to make it 1-3, and then Yoon Dong-hee’s grounder to shortstop scored Na Seung-yeop from third.

In the sixth, after a leadoff single by Go Seung-min, Son Ho-young drew a nine-pitch walk and Reyes singled to load the bases. With the bases loaded, Jeon Jun-woo followed with an RBI double to score Reyes.

Lotte didn’t stop there, though, as they continued to add runs late in the game. In the bottom of the eighth inning, back-to-back singles by Jeon Jun-woo and Yoon Dong-hee were followed by a single by Park Seung-wook.

In the ninth, Hwang Sung-bin led off with a double, moved to third on Go Seung-min’s grounder to the second baseman, and came home on Son Ho-young’s RBI double. Na Seung-yup followed with an RBI single. Jeon Jun-woo had another RBI single.

Every batter in the starting lineup had a hit for Lotte on the day. Jeon Jun-woo led the way with a 4-for-4 performance with five RBIs.

After the game, LOTTE manager Kim Tae-hyung applauded the team, saying, “The batters did a good job with all of their hits, especially the captain, Jeon Jun-woo, who went 4-for-5 with the game-winning hit.”

“Our starter Kim Jin-wook pitched well for five innings, and the bullpen did a great job to secure the win,” he added.

“I would like to thank the Lotte Giants fans for being as supportive as the home team in the sweltering weather,” Kim said.
