Praise for “scoring goals and making passes”
Likely to be selected for the first time in two months since August
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)
Head coach Luis Enrique has praised Lee Kang-in’s versatility in the French professional soccer Ligue 1.
PSG will host Strasbourg in the ninth round of the 2023-2024 Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes in Paris,
France, at midnight (KST) on Nov. 22. Currently in third place in the league, PSG will look to move up to
the top of the table against the 12th-placed Strasbourg.
During the official press conference ahead of the match, Enrique was asked about Lee Kang-in.
Lee had been away from the team for a long time. Upon returning from his injury layoff, he was called up
for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and missed the October A match.
Luckily, he was granted a military exemption after winning the Asian Games and returned to the team on
an upward curve, scoring back-to-back goals against Tunisia and Vietnam in South Korea’s October A
matches. Coach Enrique had high hopes for Lee.
“He is an explosive player who has proven what he can do. A midfielder who will play a central role in the team.”
Lee is a versatile player who can play all over the second line, as well as up front and even in the third line.
“He can play as a false nine or on the wing,” says Enrique. He can score goals, but he also knows how to
make the final pass,” he said, giving him a thumbs-up.
Enrique was not alone in his praise for Malchier. He also gave Lee a boost by naming him to his squad for
Strasbourg, which was announced on the 21st ahead of the match.
If Lee starts against Strasbourg, it will be his first appearance in the starting lineup in almost two months,
since the second leg against Toulouse on August 20. 스포츠토토맨
