LG is one win away from its first Korean Series title in 29 years, with a 94 percent chance of winning the title

The LG Twins are one win away from regaining the top spot in the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) for the first time in 29 years.

LG defeated KT Wiz 15-4 in Game 4 of the best-of-seven 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO Series at Katie Wiz Park in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, on Nov. 11 behind a 5⅔-inning, one-run shutout by starter Kim Yun-sik and 17 hits, including three cannonballs by Kim Hyun-soo, Moon Bo-kyung, and Oh Ji-hwan.

LG won the batting battle, as every batter in the lineup had a hit except for Shin Min-jae in the No. 9 spot, and prospect Kim Bum-seok, who came in as a pinch-hitter, also hit an RBI single up the middle.

LG, which turned the tide with back-to-back come-from-behind wins in Games 2 and 3 after a 2-3 loss in Game 1, now leads the series 3-1 and needs just one win in Games 5 and 7 at its home stadium, Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, on April 13-15 to celebrate its first Korean Series title in 29 years, since its second in 1994.

KT, which sent closer Kim Jae-yoon into the game in the fifth inning, was unable to mount a comeback, scoring just four runs on six hits and seven walks against LG’s mound.

Until last year, the odds of a team popping the championship champagne after taking a 3-1 lead in the Korean Series (including a tie) were 94 percent (16 out of 17).

In 2013, the Doosan Bears were the only team to take a 3-1 lead over the Samsung Lions before dropping three straight to celebrate.

LG left-hander Kim Yun-sik pitched three perfect innings before giving up a leadoff walk in the fourth and a no-hitter until Moon Sang-chul singled with one out in the fifth to earn the first starting win for either team in the Korean Series with 5⅔ innings of three-hit, one-run ball.

He used his three pitches – fastball, changeup, and curve – with excellent command to break up the KT hitters’ timing.

Kim Yun-sik was named the Daily Most Valuable Player (MVP) after the game and received a prize of 1 million won.

In Game 5, which will resume on the 13th, LG will start Casey Kelly and KT will start Young-pyo Ko.

LG’s momentum from the previous day, when it overturned a sweep with a three-run home run by Oh Ji-hwan in the ninth inning, carried over into Game 4.

With one out in the top of the first, Kim Hyun-soo scooped up a changeup from KT starter Uhm Sang-baek for a two-run arch over the right field fence.

Combined with his RBI single in the seventh inning, Kim Hyun-soo now has 45 RBIs in his career, surpassing Choi Jung (43 – SSG Landers) for the most RBIs in a postseason.

After blowing a chance to put runners on second and third in the second inning, 카지노사이트 LG No. 1 hitter Hong Chang-ki didn’t miss his second chance in the top of the fifth inning, when Moon Sung-joo drew a walk and Shin Min-jae singled to load the bases.

He lined a single to right field that beat KT’s Kim Jae-yoon to make it 3-0.

LG practically drove a wedge in the sixth inning with Moon Bo-kyung’s two-run homer.

Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and one out, Moon lined a fastball from Kim Jae-yoon into the left field stands for a two-run homer.

The timely home runs in games two through four put LG on the cusp of victory.

With runners on first and third in the seventh inning with a 6-1 lead, Oh pulled a changeup from KT’s fifth pitcher, Joo Woo-jeong, for a towering three-run homer to give KT the white flag.

Oh has homered in three consecutive games since Game 2, tying the record for most consecutive games with a home run in a single Korean Series, and he also collected eight RBIs, making him a strong candidate for Most Valuable Player (MVP).

LG celebrated the victory with three more runs in the bottom of the inning, thanks to Moon Sung-joo’s double to left-center and Shin Min-jae’s infield grounder.

LG scored seven runs in the seventh inning with eight consecutive hits from Hong Chang-ki to Moon Sung-joo, setting a new postseason record for that category.

Trailing 5-0 with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, KT got a run back on Kim Sang-soo’s double down the left-field line and Hwang Jae-gyun’s RBI single to left, but they had no answer for the LG bats that came alive in the middle innings. 바카라사이트
