Tottenham are keeping a close eye on a teenage center back they have sent out on loan to develop.
The Boy Hotspur, a Tottenham news outlet, quoted Tottenham pundit John Wenham as saying on Wednesday (Aug. 22) that Spurs are monitoring the development of Luka Vucinic (17, KVC Vesterlo), who is currently on loan in Belgium.
Buskovic signed a contract with Spurs in the summer of 2023 that runs until 2030. The teenager has previously played for Hajduk Split (Croatia), Radomiak Radom (Poland), and Vesterlo on loan.
One of Europe’s top defensive prospects, Buskovic signed with Spurs but is currently on loan at Vesterlo. He is expected to join Spurs in 2025.
Along with Josko Gvardiol (22, Manchester City), Vucinic is one of two Croatian center backs that have been highlighted. At 6-foot-2, he has a complete physicality and is technically excellent in the buildup. He is 17 years old but plays for the U-19 national team.
His buildup is smooth and his header is a threat from set pieces.
He also has the ability to shoot from mid-range, and with experience, he could become one of the best defenders in the world.
Tottenham, 토토사이트 who have been keeping an eye on the situation, are excited. He started all 11 Jupiler League games and played full-time in all but the second round.
What’s more, he’s also been contributing offensively with four goals and one assist. With the addition of Vucinic, Spurs could have one of the best Spurs defensive lines of all time with Christian Romero, Mickey van der Vaan, and Radu Drogusin.
“Tottenham will definitely watch him in pre-season before making a decision,” John Wenham told Tottenham News, adding, ”It depends on what European competition Spurs are in next season. If they qualify for the Europa League, they may decide to keep him in the team and let him work his way into the first team through that competition.”
“If Tottenham qualify for the Champions League, they could send him out on loan. But if he impresses in pre-season, anything can happen,” he added, expressing his excitement for the Spurs defense.
Busquets could be an option behind Romero and van der Vaart. However, he could be a replacement if Romero, who was recently linked with a move to Real Madrid, or Drogba, who is unhappy with his playing time, depart.
