Hwang Sun-woo, Lee Ho-joon reach 200m freestyle semifinals at World ChampionshipsSouth Korean swimming sensation Hwang Sun-woo has reached the semifinals of the men’s 200-meter freestyle at the World Championships.Hwang finished tied for 13th overall in the 200-meter freestyle preliminaries at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, with a time of 1:46.69, punching his ticket to the casinosite semifinals, which are reserved for the top 16 swimmers.Lee Ho-joon, who raced alongside Hwang, also qualified for the semifinals with a time of 1:46.21, good for fifth overall.Following his silver medal in the 200m freestyle at last year’s World Championships, Hwang will be looking to become the first South Korean swimmer to win back-to-back World Championships medals when he races in the semifinals tonight.
